Selasa 19 Februari 2013, sekitar pukul 13.15 Waktu Amerika Timur (01.15 WIB) akun twitter @BurgerKing dinonaktifkan. Akun twitter makanan cepat saji ini diretas (di-hacked) dan diganti dengan logo, McDonalds.

Akun twitter tersebut menulis bahwa perusahaan tersebut telah dibeli oleh kompetitornya, McDonalds. “Kami baru saja dijual pada McDonalds! Carilah McDonalds di lingkungan anda.” kata sebuah tweet. Akun tersebut men-tweet kalimat rasis, kata-kata kasar, bahkan tweet dengan gambar berbau narkotika.

Respons lalu datang dari Burger King, mereka akan mengumumkan permintaan maaf di halaman Facebook. Sementara itu, McDonalds pun merespon kejadian ini dari akun mereka, “Kami berempati dengan kolega kami @BurgerKing. Kami bisa memastikan, kami tidak terlibat dalam kejadian tersebut.”

Setelah satu jam, akun itu berhenti. Sampai sekarang, belum ketahuan siapa yang meng-hacked akun Burger King itu. 

Secanggih apapun teknologi, pasti masih ada yang lebih canggih. Akun resmi Presiden kita aja pernah di hacked. Buat lo yang ngerti dan handal di dunia IT, jangan sampe disalahgunain ya ilmunya! Temen-temen lo yang suka bajak status juga patut dicurigai tuh hahaha. So, hati-hati ya Anak Trax!
