The Wild Robot, Film Animasi DreamWorks Sukses di Bioskop Internasional Tayang Di Indonesia.
Dreamworks Animation merilis film bertajuk The Wild Robot yang sudah tayang mulai 11 Oktober 2024 di seluruh bioskop Indonesia. Film ini diadaptasi dari seri buku berjudul The Wild Robot karya Peter Brown yang diterbitkan pada tahun 2016 lalu. The Wild Robot merupakan film animasi bergenre sci-fi yang mengusung cerita tentang sebuah robot yang terdampar di hutan liar.
The Wild Robot sudah tayang lebih awal di Amerika pada 27 September 2024 lalu. Sejak mulai tayang, film ini berhasil mendapat ulasan yang positif dari salah satu situs web aggregator ulasan, Rotten Tomatoe.com. mengutip dari web tersebut 98% dari 178 kritikus memberikan ulasan positif film ini, dengan peringkat rata-rata 8,5/10.

Kisah film The Wild Robot berpusat pada tokoh utama bernama Roz, sebuah robot pembantu yang secara tidak sengaja terdampar di sebuah pulau terpencil yang dihuni oleh binatang liar. Di pulau itu, Roz merawat seekor angsa yatim piatu bernama Brightbill dan berusaha menjadi ibu dari angsa tersebut. Selain itu, Roz juga berteman dengan berbagai hewan di pulau tersebut, yang diisi suaranya oleh aktor-aktor papan atas seperti Catherine O’Hara dan Pedro Pascal.
Hingga 13 Oktober 2024 , The Wild Robot telah meraup pendapatan kotor sebesar $83,7 juta di Amerika Serikat dan Kanada, dan $64,7 juta di wilayah lain, sehingga total pendapatan di seluruh dunia adalah $148,5 juta. Hal ini menjadi salah satu alasan DreamWorks merencanakan sekuel untuk film ini, dengan harapan memperpanjang kesuksesan cerita Roz di layar lebar.
Pada tanggal 7 September 2024, ketika ditanya tentang kemungkinan sekuel, Sanders menyatakan, “Saya sangat ingin melakukannya. Ini adalah kerja keras dari semua orang di studio, dan ya, saya pikir saya ingin pergi dan tinggal di sini untuk sementara waktu,” ungkap sutradara Chirs Sanders saat diwawancara oleh wartawan NBC.com, Sabtu (7/9/2024).
