Anak Trax pernah nonton film – film Asia dari Thailand, Kamboja, Burma kan? Pasti ada beberapa adegan dimana mereka di jalanan dan main siram – siram air. Ternyata di Negara – Negara tersebut ada sebuah Festival yang bernama Songkran, dimana mereka merayakan tahun baru secara tradisional. Awalnya festival itu diadain karena keadaan yang panas dan membuat lingkungan jadi kering, so diadain ide untuk siram – menyiram air. Sayangnya, festival tersebut berubah 350 derajat bagi masyarakat Kamboja, Phnom Penh. Ratusan orang tewas terinjak-injak akibat kepanikan ribuan pengunjung saat menghadiri hari terkhir Festival Air Om Bon Touk tersebut, di atas jembatan yang menghubungkan Phnom Penh dengan Pulau Diamond, Kamboja, Senin (22/11) malam.

Kepanikan itu terjadi waktu beberapa orang diduga tersengat listrik yang sedang berdiri di jembatan. Listrik itu disuga berasal dari lampu penghias jembatan yang korslet. kejadian itu akhirnya membuat panik, ribuan orang yang berdiri di sekitar jembatan berlarian dan melompat ke sungai untuk menghindari sengatan listrik. Akibatnya, banyak yang tewas karena tenggelam dan terinjak-injak.

Kecelakaan akibat festival tersebut memakan korban ratusan dan dinyatakan oleh Perdana Menteri Hun Sen bahwa kecelakaan tersebut merupakan tragedi terbesar pertama selama 31 tahun terakhir ini. (Tika)
