“Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter” by Seth Grahame-Smith
Sebelum nonton filmnya kita baca novelnya dulu yuk, Anak Trax. ‘Abraham Lincoln: The Vampire Hunter’ ini bukanlah novel pertama karya Seth Grahame-Smith. Sebelumnya Grahame-Smith pernah menghasilkan satu novel yang juga masuk kategori New York Times Best-Seller yaitu ‘Pride and Prejudice and Zombies’. Nah, sesuai judulnya ‘Abraham Lincoln: The Vampire Hunter’ mengambil kisah tentang tokoh Abraham Lincoln yang diceritakan sewaktu masa kecilnya menemani ibunya yang sekarat karena penyakit yang disebut ‘the milk sickness’. Belakangan setelah kematian ibunya, Abraham mengetahui bahwa kematian tersebut disebabkan oleh kaum vampir. Karena itulah Abraham Lincoln tumbuh menjadi seseorang yang begitu membenci vampir dan berusaha membasmi mereka. Ketika Abraham Lincoln berusaha menyelamatkan Union dan membebaskan jutaan budak, ia juga menjalankan gerakan pembasmi vampir yang tetap tersimpan rahasianya selama ratusan tahun sampai Seth Grahame-Smith sendiri menemukan The Secret Journal of Abraham Lincoln dan menggunakannya sebagai panduan dalam menceritakan ulang biografi seorang Abraham Lincoln.
