Tontowi/Liliyana berhasil merampas emas dari kejuaraan dunia!

Wakil ganda campuran dari Indonesia, Liliyana Natsir dan Tontowi Ahmad berhasil keluar sebagai jawara dari Kejuaraan Dunia Bulutangkis 2017 setelah berhasil mengalahkan pasangan dari China, Zheng Siwei dan Chen Qingchen dengan skor 15-21; 21-16; 21-15.

Meskipun, keduanya sempat kewalahan di game pertama yang membuat mereka harus berusaha lebih keras untuk dapat mencuri poin. Kesalahan-kesalahan dalam game pertama, seakan mereka bayar di game berikutnya!

Smash keras dari lawan pun mereka hadapi dengan sigap, sehingga pertandingan berlangsung selama tiga set. Namun, pasangan ganda campuran ini membuktikan kualitas internasional mereka.

Di game ketiga, mereka langsung melesat dengan merebut 10 angka beruntun untuk memimpin 11-1. Perlawanan dari Zheng/Chen pun terus berjalan dan sempat memangkas jarak, namun, seperti memiliki mental baja, Tontowi/Liliyana bertahan dan memperketat serangan, sampai akhirnya berhasil ‘menyegel’ titel kemenangan!

Dengan begitu, Tontowi/Liliyana sudah mengantongi dua gelar juara dunia, setelah sebelumnya mereka juga sukses dalam Kejuaraan Dunia Bulutangkis 2013 di Guangzhou, China!

Sedangkan, gelar ini merupakan yang keempat bagi Liliyana, yang sebelumnya telah sukses mendapatkan gelar juara Dunia dengan rekan lamanya, Nova Widianto pada tahun 2005 dan 2007!
