JAFF 2024 Usung Tema ‘Metanoia’, Angkat Semangat Transformasi Sinema Asia yang Berkelanjutan
Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival (JAFF) ke-19 kembali hadir dengan tema “Metanoia,” simbol transformasi berkelanjutan di dunia sinema Asia yang terus berkembang. Festival yang akan berlangsung dari 30 November hingga 7 Desember 2024 ini menghadirkan pengalaman sinematik dengan pemutaran 180 film dari 25 negara Asia Pasifik.
Festival ini akan dibuka dengan Samsara, karya hitam putih Garin Nugroho, sementara 1 Kakak 7 Ponakan dari Yandy Laurens menjadi penutupnya. JAFF juga memperkenalkan JAFF Market sebagai marketplace pertama bagi industri film Indonesia, bertujuan memfasilitasi kolaborasi produser, sutradara, dan distributor dalam mengembangkan pasar internasional untuk film Indonesia.
Dalam kompetisi utama, 12 film panjang berkompetisi untuk penghargaan Golden Hanoman dan Silver Hanoman Awards. Film-film seperti Viet and Nam dan In the Land of Brothers menjadi sorotan tahun ini. Program Light of Asia menampilkan 18 film pendek yang memperebutkan Blencong Awards, sementara JAFF Indonesian Screen Awards akan memilih yang terbaik dari enam film Indonesia di berbagai kategori, seperti Film Terbaik, Sutradara Terbaik, dan Sinematografi Terbaik.
Selain kompetisi, JAFF19 menampilkan film-film terbaik Asia Pasifik dalam program non-kompetisi seperti Asian Perspectives dan Indonesian Film Showcase. Program ini menghadirkan dokumenter RM: Right People, Wrong Place dan film pemenang Grand Prix Cannes 2024, All We Imagine As Light.
JAFF 2024 tidak hanya menyuguhkan pemutaran film, tetapi juga memperkuat posisi Indonesia dalam industri film internasional dengan tema “Metanoia” yang membawa semangat perubahan dan kemajuan bagi sinema Asia.
