Leonardo DiCaprio akan perankan Leonardo Da Vinci
Aktor berbakat Leonardo DiCaprio dipastikan akan mengambil satu lagi peran menantang dalam karier aktingnya, yakni untuk menjelma sebagai sosok pelukis di era Renaisans, Leonardo da Vinci.
Leonardo dikabarkan akan menghidupkan sosok pelukis Mona Lisa ini dalam film biografi yang akan diproduksi oleh Appian Way, rumah produksi yang juga dibantu didirikan oleh Leonardo, bersama dengan Paramount Pictures. Skenario film ini akan ditulis berdasarkan buku biografi Leonardo da Vinci karya Walter Isaacson.
Uniknya, nama Leonardo DiCaprio sendiri terinspirasi dari nama sang pelukis. Seperti yang dikutip dalam salah satu wawancara Leo di tahun 2014, “Ayah saya bercerita bahwa saat orang tua saya tengah berbulan madu di Uffizi Gallery di Florence. Mereka mengamati salah satu karya Leonardo da Vinci, dan di saat itulah ibu saya merasakan saya yang masih di dalam kandungan, menendang-nendang.” Dan itulah asal-usul nama Leonardo Di Caprio.
Hingga saat ini masih belum ada pengumuman resmi mengenai tanggal rilis film biografi ini. Sementara itu Leo sendiri masih disibukkan dengan beberapa project, seperti film adaptasi dari Killers of the Flower Moon yang disutradarai oleh Martin Scorsese dan The Black Hand, yang kini masih dalam tahap pre-production.
