Taylor Swift Keluarkan 15 Lagu Kejutan, Umumkan ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ Jadi Double Album

Taylor Swift mengejutkan penggemar dengan “double album” dari The Tortured Poets Department Jumat pagi. Ekspansinya, dirilis dua jam setelah album awal, menampilkan 15 lagu lagi bertajuk The Anthology.

“Ini kejutan pukul 02.00: The Tortured Poets Department adalah album rahasia GANDA,” tulis Taylor di Instagram. “Saya telah menulis begitu banyak puisi yang menyiksa dalam 2 tahun terakhir dan ingin berbagi semuanya dengan Anda, jadi inilah bagian kedua dari TTPD: The Anthology. 15 lagu tambahan. Dan sekarang ceritanya bukan milikku lagi… itu milikmu.”

Penyanyi-penulis lagu ini meluncurkan album pertamanya yang berisi 16 lagu pada tengah malam pada hari Jumat. Dua lagu merupakan kolaborasi dengan Post Malone dan Florence + The Machine. Ada juga empat lagu bonus, “The Manuscript”, “The Bolter”, “The Albatross” dan “The Black Dog” yang ditampilkan dalam versi vinyl berbeda dari album tersebut. Keempat lagu tersebut, bersama 11 lagu baru lainnya, masuk dalam The Anthology.

Di Instagram, Taylor juga menyebut album tersebut sebagai “sebuah antologi karya-karya baru yang mencerminkan peristiwa, opini, dan sentimen dari momen singkat dan fatalistik – sesuatu yang sensasional dan menyedihkan dalam ukuran yang sama.”

Menjelang perilisan album, Taylor mengungkapkan bahwa single pertama albumnya adalah “Fortnight” yang menampilkan Post Malone. “Saya menjadi penggemar berat Post karena dia adalah seorang penulis, eksperimen musiknya, dan melodi yang dia ciptakan yang selalu melekat di kepala Anda selamanya. Saya menyaksikan keajaiban itu menjadi nyata secara langsung ketika kami bekerja bersama di ‘Fortnight,’” tulis Taylor di Instagram di samping foto bersama Post Malone.

Spotify juga mengungkapkan pada hari Kamis bahwa album tersebut menjadi album Countdown Page yang paling banyak disimpan sebelumnya dalam sejarah audio streamer.
