Film Dokumenter ‘JALANAN’ Mewakili Indonesia di Ajang Busan International Film Festival

 

Sebuah film dokumenter karya Daniel Ziv, penulis buku “Jakarta Inside Out,” yang juga pendiri sekaligus editor pertama majalah ‘Djakarta! – The City Life Magazine’ mengisahkan tentang keseharian Boni, Titi dan Ho – tiga orang musisi jalanan berbakat yang sehari-harinya mengamen di bis kota. Film ini menggambarkan dari dekat perjuangan mereka di Jakarta, dengan gaya yang ‘nyeleneh’ dalam menyikapi tantangan hidup, dan di saat yang sama memperlihatkan wajah ibukota yang garang, tapi sekaligus jenaka dan apa adanya.

Pada tanggal 9 September 2013, Film dokumenter ‘JALANAN’ ini terpilih mewakili Indonesia di ajang kompetisi film terbesar dan bergengsi di Asia, Busan International Film Festival (BIFF). Film ini merupakan satu dari hanya 11 film dokumenter yang terpilih tahun ini untuk berkompetisi di kategori Wide Angle di BIFF, yang diadakan pada tanggal 3 sampai 12 Oktober 2013 di Busan, Korea.

“Sangat membanggakan bisa terpilih di ajang festival film teratas”, ungkap Daniel. “Yang tidak kalah membanggakan adalah fakta bahwa cerita tiga warga yang tersisihkan dari jalanan Jakarta akan tampil untuk pertama kalinya di negara yang dinamis dan sangat mengapresiasi film seperti Korea, di sebuah festival yang diikuti oleh lebih dari 70 negara dan merupakan salah satu festival dengan penonton terbanyak di dunia (220.000 orang)”.

Film dokumenter dibuat untuk menggambarkan permasalahan kehidupan manusia meliputi bidang ekonomi, budaya, hubungan antar manusia, etika dan lain sebagainya. Inti dari dokumenter adalah suatu usaha eksplorasi dari orang-orang, pelaku-pelaku yang nyata dan situasi yang sungguh nyata. Dan Daniel mengambil sudut pandang dari kehidupan pengamen di Jakarta. “Film ini memberi gambaran berbeda tentang Indonesia agar tidak selalu disorot dari sisi terorisme dan bencana alam, atau sebaliknya, dari sisi klise eksotisme pariwisatanya”, tambah Daniel. JALANAN justru secara jujur memperlihatkan sekelumit kehidupan di Indonesia yang sederhana dan manusiawi. “Ini adalah sisi lain Indonesia yang hanya sedikit diketahui oleh orang asing”.

JALANAN sebagai proyek film pertama Daniel dimulai 6 tahun yang lalu dengan biaya yang minim. Pengambilan gambar berlangsung selama 4 tahun dan dilakukan oleh tim kecilnya di jalan-jalan ibukota. “Awalnya hanya saya, kamera dan ide untuk membawa kehidupan yang berbeda dari pengamen jalanan Jakarta ke layar lebar”, ujar Daniel. “Bahkan sound woman saya adalah pengamen jalanan yang saya ajarkan untuk merekam suara. Kami juga menggunakan musik dari 3 karakter utama di film ini sebagai soundtrack dan musical score.”
