Proyek film solo kedua sang superhero ini bahkan kabarnya sudah sempat masuk dalam tahap penulisan naskah dan juga telah menemukan karakter yang akan jadi villain-nya.

Melansir The Direct, proyek film Man of Steel 2 yang kini sudah dipastikan batal kabarnya akan menampilkan Brainiac sebagai villain utamanya. Sekadar informasi, Brainiac memang merupakan salah satu villain ikonis Superman dalam versi komiknya. Sosok Brainiac dalam film yang batal itu digambarkan sebagai villain yang berkeliling alam semesta menghancurkan kota demi mencuri pengetahuan.

Naskah Man of Steel 2 kabarnya sudah dikerjakan ketika Dwayne Johnson membujuk Henry Cavill untuk kembali ke DCU dengan muncul sebagai cameo di Black Adam. Namun, kemungkinan besar naskah Man of Steel 2 yang sudah sempat ditulis ini akan ditelantarkan begitu saja. Sebab, James Gunn selaku petinggi baru DC Studios sudah memiliki rencana lain untuk sang Man of Steel pada kelanjutan DCU mendatang.
