Karena hal tersebut, ada kemungkinan film sekuelnya pun diangkat dari novel kelanjutannya ini.
Melalui “Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy“, Gary Oldman berhasil masuk dalam kategori Best Actor untuk Oscar awal tahun ini melalui karakter George Smiley yang ia perankan.
